Financial Aid Rights & Responsibilities

FLC integrates Federal government principles into our financial aid rules, policies, and procedures.

  1. To the extent that they are able, parents should and will pay for the education of their children;
  2. Students also must assume responsibility for a reasonable portion of their educational expenses; and
  3. The family's financial circumstances should be evaluated consistently and equitably while recognizing that special circumstances can and do alter a family's ability to contribute to the student's education.

Eligibility Requirements for Financial Aid

There are some eligibility requirements to keep your Financial Aid. You must meet specific requirements, such as:

  • United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Admitted to Fort Lewis College
  • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program, certificate program, or the Teacher Licensing Program
  • Not in default on a student loan or owe an overpayment of a federal grant
