Colorado residents receive the College Opportunity Fund

The College Opportunity Fund is a Colorado state benefit for in-state undergraduate students enrolled in college classes that reduces Colorado residents' college tuition. Just like a grant, you don't have to pay it back.

COF provides students with 145 credit hours to use at any Colorado college. If additional credits are needed, FLC may grant them up to an extra year. Students requiring additional credits after the Fort Lewis College appeal process can submit an appeal through the State of Colorado.

How to apply for a COF stipend

COF authorization is now a part of new and continuing student on-boarding tasks. Any student who is a Colorado resident will have a task as part of their first term onboarding process in Workday to authorize COF. If you did not receive this task in Workday as part of your onboarding, reach out to skyhawkstation@fortlewis.edu for assistance.

Ensure your social security number and date of birth are on file with FLC. To provide  FLC with your social security number, and upload it to Skyhawk Station.
