The most winningest coach in men’s soccer history and ’05 National Champions team were inducted into the RMAC Hall of Fame on July 12. FLC women’s golf were also recognized at the ceremony, winning the 2018-19 Brechler Award for the top women’s golf grade point average in the conference.

Dan Gallagher (Business Administration, ’89), a former Fort Lewis College basketball player, is creating a scholarship program to help future members of the Skyhawks men’s basketball team earn their education and contribute on the court. The scholarship, called the Nancy Elizabeth Gallagher Basketball Scholarship, is named in honor of Dan’s mother.

Fort Lewis College President Dene Thomas announced today that Barney Hinkle has been chosen to lead the athletic department as the Director of Athletics. Hinkle replaces Gary Hunter who resigned in May.

The Skyhawks men’s basketball team finished the 2016-17 season 26-7 overall -- the second most wins in program history, after last season's 28 wins. The Skyhawks rank No. 23 in the NCAA Division II final poll, and rode their success to the semifinal round of the South Central Regional Tournament.

To celebrate the success of the men's and women's basketball teams during the 2016-17 season, FLC produced a 30-second commercial about the teams that aired nationally. A darkened Whalen Gymnasium was filled with fog and dramatic spotlights, and drones captured footage of Skyhawks athletes.
