Learn how to register for classes in Workday

Registration is in Workday beginning in the Fall 2024 semester registration period.

This process can be complicated. Get help from an advisor at any time!

Check for holds

Account holds DO NOT prevent you from registering for classes during "Registration Weeks," but you must take care of them to make later changes.

Create a plan—but be flexible

You can create a saved schedule in Workday on your own or with help from an advisor so your anticipated classes are saved and ready for registration. However, keep in mind that the classes you need could be full when registration opens.

Find out when you register

In Workday, your registration window date range is called a 'Registration Appointment.' These appointments show your eligible registration dates for upcoming semester terms and can be found in the 'Upcoming Registration Appointments' table within the Academics app.

Register for courses

Register for course sections from saved schedule 

Adding course sections to a saved scheduled does NOT register you for them! To complete registration, you must click the Register button from View My Saved Schedules.

Register for a single course section 

If you register without a saved schedule, you'll need to filter your course sections report for each course you look up. To register for all your planned courses at once, create a saved schedule first and then register from that collection using the instructions above.

Drop a course during registration 

During open registration, you can drop a course section from the View My Courses section in Workday. *Note: The Drop button will disappear after the registration period ends following the census date.
