Captain Jeff Kuss

Captain Jeff Kuss (Economics, '06) of the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, performed a flyover with the Blue Angels before the start of Super Bowl 50. We are saddened to report that Captain Kuss died following a training accident on June 2.​

Theatre students

Three students and the assistants presented their thespian talents at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Hawaii in February. Junior Theatre major Jaclyn Drummond earned a a spot to display her skills at the Kennedy Center in Washington D. C. in April. 

Ross McCauley

Ross McCauley, Associate Professor of Biology, earned a Fulbright award for the 2016-17 academic year. He will use the grant to study in Ecuador. 

Justin McBrayer

Justin McBrayer, Associate Professor of Philosophy, earned a Fulbright award for the 2016-17 academic year. He will use the grant to study in Austria. 

Nancy Cardona

Nancy Cardona, Associate Professor of English, earned a Fulbright award for the 2016-17 academic year. She will use the grant to study in Norway. 

Pride in our Skyhawk student-athletes

I was pleased to hear that our Fort Lewis College student athletes recorded their highest grade point average in the past 10 years. At FLC, we place just as much importance on academics as we do on wins and losses. I’m grateful to our FLC Athletics administration and Skyhawk coaches for ensuring our athletes get the most out of their time in the classroom.

IHBC results

Hundreds of current students, alumni, faculty, and staff competed in the 2016 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic on May 28-29. Senior Exercise Science major Payson McElveen scored first in the road race and third in the mountain bike race; sophomore Economics major Cormac McGeough topped the podium in the circuit race and took second in the overall road Omnium.
