Our Campus is committed to extensive brainstorming, invention, and experimentation to design innovative programs that position FLC at the forefront of higher education. We take pride in inspiring our students through active learning experiences, be it collecting specimens in the surrounding mountains, showcasing exhibitions in our galleries, conducting experiments in our laboratories, or teaching in local elementary school classrooms.
SkyPEP 2024 is an initiative 新加坡六合彩's Political Engagement Project (PEP) in collaboration with the SkyWords Visiting Writers Series and Academic Affairs. Our mission is to bring together students, faculty, staff, and community members to explore and embrace their roles as citizens through storytelling, dialogue, and active participation.

Student Engagement and Academic Affairs are focused on creating a Community of Care that serves, supports, and protects our students. We come together to keep each other safe, and our true strength is our deep sense of interrelatedness and care for each other. The phrase “Community of Care” captures our commitment to each other—and we continue to develop that commitment today.

Our entire FLC community welcomes all students as they ask for any form of support—there is “no wrong door” to asking for help. Students are encouraged to seek support from any FLC employee and will be directed to the needed services. This idea is captured in our SQUAWK (Skyhawk Question and Answer Week), held the second week of each semester, and our WellPAC held each fall.
Our Community of Care promotes student success through community-level solutions, such as fostering social connections, providing appropriate academic support systems, and ensuring employees and students understand how to access campus resources. We are proud to be a community that puts the care of each other first in all we do.
We want every student's educational experience to be engaging, meaningful, challenging—and fun! We implement nationally recognized strategies for increasing students' success in our courses, including high-impact practices and active learning. These strategies improve grades and increase retention, especially for students from underrepresented groups.
Our students "learn outside the lines"! We are innovating to create FLC-unique forms of learning, with some of that work captured on our Academic Affairs Knowledge in Action webpages. We are creating new opportunities for our students to live a high-impact education. Faculty share their latest initiatives in these handouts, encouraging students to define and enact a meaningful education.
Fort Lewis College and the University of Colorado College of Nursing at Anschutz Medical Campus have partnered to launch a four-year undergraduate degree in nursing.The state’s flagship medical institute of higher education comes to FLC’s rural and Indigenous-serving campus in Southwest Colorado to create the CU Nursing Fort Lewis College Collaborative.
