FLC campus gets even greener this summer

Going green has been a way of life at Fort Lewis College for a long time -- it just comes naturally when you live in a place as beautiful and inspiring as southwestern Colorado. And this summer, the FLC campus has gotten even greener, with several energy- and money-saving projects underway.

Academic athletes dominate studies as well as sports

In May, when Fort Lewis College first baseman Stephanie Janes was named to the Capital One Academic All-America second team for NCAA Division II, it was a crowning academic achievement for Skyhawk athletes.

Road Scholars Team races the Iron Horse train for scholarships

A hundred and five riders will combine their love of cycling with their love of Fort Lewis College at this year's annual Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, when the Fort Lewis College Road Scholars Team races the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge train from Durango to Silverton in the Citizens Tour on Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Incoming freshmen go out and get wild

Before heading to class for the Fall semester, several dozen freshmen students will explore and camp in the San Juan Mountains -- the ragged range of peaks visible to the north from campus. While they're out there, they'll also be get to know some of their new classmates and learn about the FLC culture.

The Fort Lewis Cycling team is the best collegiate cycling program in the country for the third year in a row after earning the highest overall point total for the 2011-2012 season in USA Cycling's Division I.

Cycling team rides for #1 three-peat at Road Nationals

The Fort Lewis College Cycling team will be #1 in the nation for the third year in a row if it continues its recent run of successes at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships, May 4 - 6 in Ogden, Utah. The event completes the four-discipline collegiate cycling year, which also includes track, mountain biking, and cyclo cross.
