Korb SEEDS

Four FLC students, under the direction of Biology Professor Julie Korb, attended a four-day workshop through SEEDS at the Rocky Mountain Biology Laboratory in Gothic, Colorado. They were able to network with influential scientists and other students and prepare for careers in their field.  

AISES

Fourteen FLC students, along with faculty, staff, and alumni, traveled to Denver for the . Senior Engineering major Jeremy James and Junior Chemistry major Uriah Contreras won honorable mentions for their oral and poster presentations.

The School of Education was recognized by the for three of their Promising Partnership Practices: “Learning About Community Resources,” “Professional Exhibition,” and “Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival.”

Brett Sublett

Brett Sublett, assistant Cross-Country coach, broke a trail record when he and four other men . The group completed the 485-mile trek in 3 days, 15 hours, 54 minutes.

Fort Lewis College presents Real History of the Americas

The Real History of the Americas takes a positive, but different look at the history of North and South America from the viewpoints of Hispanic, African-American, Asian, Native and LGBT peoples, among others. The 2017 theme is “Honoring the Heartbeat of our Mother,” and will feature indigenous drumming, traditional foods, lectures, art, theatre and storytelling.

Melissa Knight-Maloney

Melissa Knight-Maloney, professor and chair of Exercise Science, participated in the in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She placed 14th in her age group and 4th among American women.

The FLC Cycling Team placed in Indianapolis, Indiana in September 2017.
