In two short weeks, Fort Lewis College is celebrating its fifth annual #GivingTuesday, a 24-hour fundraising campaign that seeks to raise funds from 550 donors this year. 

Growing up, Gabby James (Biochemistry, ’19) saw few healthcare providers who looked like her. A member of the Diné Tribe, James is striving to change that for future generations. She’s one step closer thanks to a full-ride scholarship to the University of Wisconsin’s Physician’s Assistant program.

Alana Romans, Director, Strategic Initiatives, received $568,689 from the US Department of the Treasury through La Plata County Economic Development Alliance for the Project RUN certificate program – Opportunity Now Colorado.

Kendra Gallegos Reichle, Director, Student Well-Being, received $99,193 from the Department of Health and Human Services – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Center for Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) for the “FLC Suicide and Substance Use Prevention project.”

Dr. Jonathan Harvey, Associate Professor, Geosciences, received $73,565 from the State of Colorado Department of Natural Resources for the “Lower Dolores River Wild & Scenic project.” 

Dr. Jonathan Harvey, Associate Professor, Geosciences, received $14,988 from The Nature Conservancy for the “2023 Dolores River Adaptive Management Support project.”
