Since she first set foot on the Fort Lewis College campus 30 years ago as a first-generation college student, Jennifer Trujillo (English, ’93) has poured her life into learning, teaching, and pioneering a sustainable path toward a more equitable education for all.

After 15 years of service to the FLC community, Dean of the School of Education Richard Fulton is packing his proverbial dry bag and shoving off toward the next horizon of quasi-retirement.

The School of Education recognized two graduates and one student from the Teacher Education program with the Southwest Rural Make a Difference Teacher Award.

Principal Leadership is the second online graduate program from the School of Education.

Students earning their master’s degree at Fort Lewis College can either earn the TESOL or Colorado’s Culturally and Linguistically Diverse endorsement. FLC is the only Colorado school and one of only four New Mexico institutions to offer the TESOL.

The School of Teacher Education is in constant contact with educators and school districts to understand what programs would best serve the Four Corners region’s educational professionals. And that’s how FLC’s newest graduate program, a Master of Arts in Education: Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education that will launch this fall, came to be.
