Like you, I was shocked and saddened by the attacks in Paris last week. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families, as well as to the people of France.

I am grateful to be able to report that all of the FLC students studying abroad in Europe are accounted for and safe. None of our students were in Paris at the time of the attacks.

Thank you to Jennifer Gay and her staff in the FLC International Programs Office for their work keeping our students safe. They continuously monitor travel advisories from all over the world to make sure they have the latest information on the places our students travel. They also provide training to students before they leave that can help keep them safe wherever they go.

The opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture is an invaluable college experience. We will do all we can to ensure that FLC students can continue to enjoy study abroad opportunities as safely as possible.

Sincerely,

Dene Thomas
President, Fort Lewis College
