The most prominent Native American cartoonist working today, Ricardo Caté (Education, ’06) was enlisted after his graduation from FLC by the Santa Fe New Mexican to create a daily single-panel cartoon called “Without Reservations,” a series Caté originated in The Independent, FLC’s student newspaper.

Caté is also a Marine veteran, speaker, stand-up comedian, writer. activist, and tribal official for the Santo Domingo Pueblo. In 2012 his cartoon were collected in the book Without Reservations: The Cartoons of Ricardo Cate.
