In the near future we will be sending out a form asking for strategic planning ideas. I encourage you to consider submitting an idea to help shape the future of Fort Lewis College.  I want ideas to come not just from administration, but from all of you.  I value your input here, just as I did with the mission and core values statements.

At this point, the ideas can be completely new, or they can be improvements to existing programs or services. They can be academic, co-curricular, or extra-curricular. The only requirement is that the ideas should have a realistic chance of increasing FLC’s enrollment by 35-70+ students. These can be new students or an increase in retained students.

As those of you who were at the Spring Welcome saw, enrollment has been, and is going to continue to be, a challenge for us, as it has been for the other regional schools in Colorado. On top of that, state funding remains uncertain for the future. Yet along with the challenges are some exciting opportunities to build Fort Lewis College’s reputation as a college of choice across the state, region and country.  I want to hear from you.  We are in this together.

Sincerely,

Dene Thomas
President, Fort Lewis College
