With the Geosciences, Physics & Engineering Hall due to be completed next fall, the next major construction project for Fort Lewis College is the Whalen Gym expansion.
The expansion will benefit our Exercise Science and Adventure Education programs, as well as Skyhawk Athletics. Split into two phases, the first phase of the Whalen Gym expansion will add new classrooms, labs, and faculty offices. The second phase will focus on better athletic training and strength training facilities, a new practice gym, and locker room upgrades.
The outlook for state funding to go towards higher education construction is uncertain at this point, but we’ll continue to push for the new and upgraded facilities that Fort Lewis College needs and deserves.
